Lions Club of Kanungu Urged to Expand Service and Membership by Governor Byarugaba

KANUNGU, Uganda .

Lions Club of Kanungu members were challenged to deepen their commitment to service, strengthen leadership and grow membership in order to expand the organization’s humanitarian impact.

The call came from Lion John Byarugaba, the District Governor, who spoke during a club event held in Kihihi at Goro Cottages. Byarugaba thanked members for their dedication to serving their communities and urged the club to continue projects that address pressing community needs.. This was during the board meeting that happened after the tree planting exercise along a street in Kihihi.

Governor John Byarugaba also emphasized the importance of upholding the values of integrity and selfless service that underpin the Lions Clubs mission.

Recruiting and mentoring new members was another key theme of his address. Byarugaba said a growing membership base helps expand the reach of Lions Clubs’ humanitarian work, allowing the organization to take on more projects and serve more people.

The event brought together members and guests to celebrate ongoing service efforts, welcome new members and reflect on community projects already underway. Two people were inducted yesterday, one of them being the former RDC for Kanungu Mr Mugisha Peter.

Lions Clubs International is one of the world’s largest volunteer service organizations, with clubs operating in communities around the globe.
